Hankins Road will close to thru traffic between LeSourdsville West Chester Road and Yankee Road beginning Monday, August 7. The road is tentatively rescheduled to reopen the week of September 18.
During this closure, local access will be maintained for residents of Hankins Road within the construction zone as well as for side streets, including Crossings Boulevard and Roden Park Drive. Residents of these subdivisions however are advised to utilize alternate access into and out of their subdivisions in order to minimize as much as possible the amount of traffic within the Hankins Road construction zone.
Detour: Eastbound Hankins Road traffic will detour south on LeSourdsville West Chester Road, east on Kyles Station Road, and north on Yankee Road to Hankins. Westbound traffic will reverse this route. Note: Kyles Station Road, currently closed at Maud Hughes Road, will be reopened when this detour goes into effect.
Note about culvert replacements: During the two culvert replacements, complete closure at the culverts will be necessary. Local access will be from the east. The first culvert is 400 feet east of LeSourdsville West Chester Road and the second culvert is located 0.2 mile east of LeSourdsville West Chester. Both culverts should be completed within the first week of construction.
Motorists are encouraged to check the BCEO website as the best source for possible date and status changes concerning the closure.
